Small Handmade Ceramic Hanging Tile, Blue Seed-head Stems on Green, Inspired By Nature

These are handmade, original sketches in clay, small ceramic paintings which have been fired in the kiln. As with my larger pieces they are created using layers of blue and green coloured slip which is painted and printed onto the surface. Marks and lines are impressed and scored into the layers resulting in a multi-layered texture enriched with a number of different glazes which enhance the colours. All my ceramic work is handmade in my Yorkshire garden studio.

Each ceramic painting is a mini abstract landscape in blues and greens incorporating elements from nature; perhaps a windswept moor with blowing grasses or seed-heads bobbing in a field. What do you see?

These small hanging tiles work well as a group but look great singularly hanging in a small space, an alcove or on a narrow strip of wall.
