Fields of Gold | No. 3 - Ceramic Painting Wall Mounted

This is a small landscape inspired ceramic painting for displaying on the wall.. Think of a stormy beach or a windswept grassy meadow. My interest is in layering colour, texture and mark making through the medium of ceramics. The base clay is a textured terracotta clay which lends itself well to these flat painterly pieces. The rolled clay is printed onto, scored into and painted over repeatedly using a variety of different blue and yellow coloured slips. The soft clay gives under gentle pressure and creates relief which is reminiscent of grasses and rain. Further richness and depth is added with the application of different glazes for a second firing which adds further qualities to the finished piece. The painting is mounted onto a small varnished wooden panel which allows the piece to stand away slightly from the wall.

Packaging: The ceramic painting will come to you carefully wrapped in tissue paper but where possible I use recycled materials and boxes for the outer packaging. I aim to be mainly plastic free but occasionally will reuse bubble wrap.
